Biography

Dr. Asif Khan is a Research Consultant at the Mechanics of Composites for Energy and Mobility (MCEM) lab at King Abdullah University for Science and Technology (KAUST). He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Dongguk University in Seoul, South Korea, in 2018. He worked as an Assistant Professor at Dongguk University from 2018 to 2022, and in GIK Institute from 2022 to 2024. Recently, in February 2024, he joined KAUST as a research consultant. During his career, he has published 22 papers in highly ranked journals and 2 Korean patents and communicated more than 20 international conference presentations.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Diagnosis and Prognosis of Mechanical Systems/Structures, Modeling and Simulation of Defects in Engineering Structures, Modeling and Simulation of Rotodynamic, Energy Harvesting from Ambient Resources, General Engineering Applications of AI, Feedback Control of Smart Structures/Systems, Autonomous Learning and Control, Data-Driven Decision in Mechanical Engineering.
