Dr. Syed Zulfiqar Hussain Shah is currently serving as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Mechanics of Composites for Energy and Mobility (MCEM) Laboratory at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia, in 2021. Following his doctoral studies, he worked a lecturer position at UTP until 2025. During his academic career, he has contributed to over 38 publications in highly-ranked peer-reviewed journals and has presented his findings at more than five international conferences. His current research interests include fiber-reinforced composites manufacturing, testing and damage modelling.
Multiscale damage modelling of textile composites, micromechanics modelling, stochastic modelling, development of user-defined material subroutines, impact resistance and damage tolerance of composites, fatigue life enhancement of composites, and 3D printing of fibre-reinforced composites and sandwich composite structures.
