Biography

Dr. Mayand Malik is a postdoctoral research fellow currently working at ENERCOMP, KAUST.

He holds a dual degree (MTech + PhD) in Manufacturing Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, India. His doctoral research was on the 3D printing of continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composites. He also has research experience as a project scientist at Inspired Lab, IIT Madras. His research interests include additive manufacturing, sustainable fiber-reinforced composites, and bio-inspired composite structures for reduced reliance on conventional materials and manufacturing approaches. His current research is on the in-situ characterization and performance evaluation of fiber-reinforced composites under harsh environmental and service conditions.

Research Interests

Additive manufacturing, fiber-reinforced composites, sustainable composite materials development, bio-inspired composites, aging and in-service performance analysis of composites, mechanical characterization and failure analysis of composites.
