Lyna Ouiddi is a computer engineer and global designer currently working as a design resident at KAUST. With a dual background in engineering and design, she explores the intersection of science, technology, and human-centered design. She is particularly interested in integrating emerging technologies into meaningful and sustainable solutions that respond to social, environmental, and cultural challenges. At KAUST, she contributes to exploratory projects that combine applied research, material innovation, and systemic thinking. In July 2025, she joined the composites lab under the supervision of Prof. Gilles Lubineau.
Lyna Ouiddi is passionate about bridging scientific disciplines and creative practices. Her work includes projects such as reusing palm waste to develop new bio-based composite materials, as well as designing interactive systems powered by AI and smart sensors. Her approach is rooted in co-design, collaboration with users and local stakeholders, and a deep understanding of context. She sees design as a strategic tool to foster inclusive, resilient, and future-oriented transitions.
