Prof. Gilles Lubineau attended the JEC World Exhibition

29 March, 2026

Professor Gilles Lubineau participated in a high-level panel at JEC World, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s growing leadership in advanced materials and composites.

The session brought together key stakeholders from government, industry, and academia to discuss the Kingdom’s rapidly evolving composites ecosystem and the opportunities emerging under Saudi Vision 2030. Discussions focused on market outlook, strategic priorities, and pathways to strengthen international collaboration and investment.

Representing KAUST, Prof. Gilles Lubineau, Principal Investigator of the MCEM Lab and Director of the ENERCOMP KAUST/Aramco Technology Consortium, shared insights on the role of research–industry partnerships in accelerating innovation in composite materials. His contribution emphasized how collaborative platforms are enabling the development of next-generation technologies to support Saudi Arabia’s industrial transformation.

The panel also featured distinguished representatives from Saudi Aramco, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), the Ministry of Energy (Saudi Arabia), and NEOM, reflecting strong cross-sectoral alignment to advance the Kingdom’s composites agenda.

This engagement reinforces the MCEM's lab commitment to innovation, support for national priorities, and strengthening global partnerships in advanced materials and composite technologies.
