ICCM23 is the premier international conference in the field of composite materials
Ahmed presented his work titled: "Metal-CFRP T-joint with 3D printed auxetic metal stiffener," which presents a novel lightweight metal/CFRP T-joint with an auxetic stiffener that exhibits simultaneous strength and toughness improvement. The strength and toughness were enhanced by 3 and 80 times compared to conventional metal-CFRP joints, respectively. This novel joint is 40% lighter than the conventional metal-CFRP T-joint.
ICCM 23 attracted leading researchers and practitioners to report and exchange ideas on the latest developments in advancing and exploiting a wide range of composites materials and structures. The conference was held in Belfast, Northern Ireland, from July 30th to August 4th, 2023.
