*** THE EVENT IS POSTPONED ***
Dear all,
As a consequence of the quick changing coronavirus situation in Europe and worldwide, I am sorry to let you know that we have to postpone our Future Composite workshop.
Indeed, KAUST does not allow anymore residents/visitors from many countries to enter the campus, including since yesterday, France and Germany. As the situation is evolving very quickly, we expect more restrictions to come in the next ten days both at the University and national level. We also believe that postponing the event is a reasonable thing to do, so you do not get unnecessary exposure to this, and we do not participate in the global spread of the virus.
Of course, I am well aware that this is an unpleasant news, as you already committed both your time and visa/travel arrangements for the event. I want to sincerely thank all of you for this.
Our plan is to reschedule the event in a 6 to 9 months timeframe (probably between October to December). So we will come back to you (not before May, because I want to have some better visibility on the situation) and try to find the best date to get all our speakers here. I sincerely hope you will be able to make it for these new dates.
Please do not hesitate to contact us (Ms. Huiping at huiping.chen@kaust.edu.sa and me) in case you have any questions.
Here again, this is only a short delay. Let's target for an even better and more successful event in a couple of months!
Sincerely,
Dr. Gilles Lubineau

We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting KAUST Research Conference: Shaping the future of Composite Materials on March 16-18, 2020.
Vision 2030 streamlines Saudi Arabia's role as one of the major players in petrochemical industry. The diversification of the industry towards producing composite materials is necessary to exemplify Saudi's competitive advantage and to fuel the economy with high-volume (energy, civil, transportation) and high-technology markets (aeronautics and space). A scientific event that will bring together academia, industry and government institutes that supports such transformation will be beneficial for all parties.
Encouraged by the success of our previous workshops (CEMAM in 2013, COMINT in 2015), COHMAS Laboratory organizes a workshop in the field of composite materials with the theme of "Shaping the future with composite materials". This workshop provides a high-level forum to discuss the latest development of composite science and technology relevant to our interests. This workshop will invite a number of high-caliber professors, researchers, engineers and industry practitioners who will share their knowledge, expertise and experience in their respective areas.
The workshop will be organized around the following areas:
Conference chairs: Prof. Gilles Lubineau (KAUST), Dr. Fahad Al-Khodairi (Corporate Fellow, SABIC)
Venue: KAUST campus, Thuwal, KSA
Date: March 16-18, 2020
Program: Keynote lecture, technical presentation, round-table discussion, poster session, center and laboratory visits, social events.
