Dr. Mulle contributes to the development of new experimental methodologies that allow the analysis of various composite materials and structures. His research work focuses on the use of embedded FBG sensors for the identification of properties and behaviors within the structure. This technology enables to monitor the full life-cycle of composite part from the curing process to the in-service phase and final degradation. Applications to SHM (structural health monitoring) methodologies are currently in progress. Complementary techniques based on electrical measurements are being developed such as ERT/EIT which should provide added-value to damage identification.
